Totally forgotten about JRiver, my bad. Sad Yes, Re-install the JRiver firmware again to get it to come back up.

Totally forgotten about JRiver, my bad. Sad Yes, Re-install the JRiver firmware again to get it to come back up.

I got it to work after some issues:
When I first installed the 1.2.2 upgrade JRiver stops working, and disperses from the Available Music Software list.
Then I installed the jriver28-1.2 module, JRiver shoved up in the Available Music Software list but I couldn't get to start, I get an error when I try to save the music player settings. I tried several times and I even reinstalled JRiver, but no luck Sad .
So I started over, reverted to the SnakeOil 1.2.0 snapshot in Vmware;
  • updated Ubuntu
  • installed the 1.2.1 upgrade
  • installed the 1.2.2 upgrade
  • installed the jriver28-1.2 module (the install/upgrade console didn't update the progress until I left clicked inside, is this a bug?)
  • Installed the latest JRiver (+ sudo apt --fix-broken install, sudo apt-get autoremove, sudo apt-get autoclean, sudo apt-get clean)
Now JRiver shoved up in the Available Music Software list but I have to press Save several times before I get an OK and the settings was saved, any idea whats the reason? Think
But now it works Smile .

Looks like the fix I implemented in #7 (Fixed when player running status is not detected properly (racing condition) in U2 may not work well for JRiver Blush.

JRiver is taking longer than expected to start. Click on the refresh button in the player status panel and see if that works. There could be other reasons, I'll see if I can explore this later this week.
