Try to run mpd it is the worse thing effer. Can not find any app for it what is working. I think it has no use to be on the snakeoilOS. LMS I can understand but mpd is terrible.

I normally use an android client to control this remotely.. I believe the built in MyMPD remote is broken in 1.2.0, this will be fixed in U1. In the meantime there is a hotpatch module you can apply to get it working in 1.2.0: See here.

MPD is a fantastic player, it has a clean (albeit clinical) sound which really brings out the soul of the music in genres like classical, jazz. Only issue is this isn't really that suitable for compressed pop music (where LMS+Squeezelite can be more forgivable).

Hi Tecko, are you running Snakeoil on a PC or raspberry Pi?

If PC, download the module in this post, and upload it to your Snakeoil PC via the system menu (install box), restart MPD (or reboot the PC) and you'll get myMPD working on the Snakeoil PC itself.

If you're using a Pi, rename the file and replace the word 'generic' with 'arm7l'. And you should be able to upload it to the Pi. Again restart MPD or reboot to apply the changes.

This MyMPD issue will be fixed in U2, and also generic firmware will work on the Pi then.

I am using nuc10i3 PC. I am satisfy with Roon. Only expensive software to run it but it works perfect. Maybe I give mpd a try later.

I did add that file to snakeloil and did reboot is. But how to run myMPD then? I need to control from my macOS or/and android phone..... found it:  ipnumber:8080. Works now Smile

But no Tidal and Qobuz integration mconnect android does not work and o!mpd I do not get running.

Tidal made it difficult for MPD to continue supporting. The only way around that is to use MPD as a UPNP renderer. There should be articles on the Internet on how to do that. I havn't done this myself as I don't have a tidal subscription.

MPD produces the best sound in CAS ever and it just takes a little time to understand.  It applies to everything.

Another fan of MPD here Smile    I find LMS to sound a little dull and too much bloom.  though that may reflect age related hearing changes ...
