Agent Kith - Posting my installation results here as you requested.  This is related to my post in the "Snakeoil Gear Isolation Alpha Series" thread:

Quote:agent_kith Wrote: That's an interesting one. Can you run the installer again and C&P the output? Post this in a new thread under "support & troubleshooting".

403 sounds like the web server is accepting requesting, but then it denied your access. Not sure why. Will be good to suss this out.

What's not working:  I am unable to access the web interface when typing the ip into the web browser.

What is working:  This is a VirtualBox installation.  I AM able to use SSH and view the Samba shares from Windows 10.

End Goal:  Confirm JRiver 27 will run before wiping out my production box.

The requested output from the installation script is below.  Sorry for the multiple screenshots vs a simple paste of the text....I didn't know how to do it any other way in the VM.

Thanks out to you and Snoopy both for taking the time to respond!
Confirming that I get the same error with my VirtualBox instance.
This is network NAT, or bridged?

Also, can you show me a screencap of
http://192.168.50.56/3rdpartylicenses.txt

Currently set to bridged, though I have NAT as well.  This is using wi-fi instead of a cable, but I do have other vm's that are working fine with this setup.

Looks like it's not working. :/

Code:
dpkg -l|grep apache2
and show me the output? It should return nothing... I should add a check to make sure the webserver must be lighttpd and nothing else.

You're correct - there is no output and nothing to show.
Unless I'm mistaken, Ubuntu doesn't see Apache2 as being installed.  Is Apache2 what is being used to serve the webpage?

Note:
I went ahead and installed Apache2 and set "Localhost" as the Servername in the config file.  I was able to pull up the default Apache site.  Then I erased my virtual machine and started fresh since I'm not sure how SnakeOil is set up to serve the pages to the browser.  (My lack of understanding is probably causing me to use incorrect terminology.  My apologies.)

Apologies for the late reply. Now, Snakeoil is using lighttpd.

Do you want to do a team viewer session with me so I can remotely login to your computer and try and understand the issue? I'll try and email you soon to arrange.

Wow - I haven't used team viewer in a long time!  I switched to Anydesk's free version myself.  It was easier to get running on Arch Linux when I was running AP-Linux.

->  Can you remind me if a Teamviewer session can be done without me installing their product on my computer?  I'd be happy to do a remote show & tell so long as the timing works out for us both.

Ideally TeamViewing to your Windows (or Mac) desktop then SSH to the Snakeoil PC. Weekends are usually good as I'm almost always flat out on weekdays unfortunately.. Sorry that I havn't emailed you earlier, will try to do so later today or closer to the end of the week.
