Full Version: Problems installing Upmpdcli

Hello,

I have a problem installing Upmpdcli from the SnakeOil "Music Software" section.

I'm still using Ubuntu 16.04.7 LTS with 4.4.9-rt17-snakeoil-x64 kernel and 1.2.1 (Gear Isolation U1) firmware.

This is the combination I like best because of sound quality and user interface design and friendliness.

At first I thought that the 1.2.1 firmware is outdated, so I upgraded to 1.2.9 , but I still have the same problem.

This is the output I get:

Wht should I do? Is there an alternative way of installing it through command line?

Same issue as your other question.. If you can, purchase a second SSD to install the latest version of Ubuntu (with RT kernel), and then compare the audio differences between the two. Pick the one you like.

As mentioned due to very limited resources I simply cannot support multiple LTS versions.. Heck right now I don't even think I have the time to support 1 LTS version.

@agent_kith Thanks! Thumbs Up

In case I still like the old Ubuntu SQ better, is there a way to install Upmpdcli manually using some commands in terminal?

If you choose to continue with 16.04, then please use the link below and request support from the author if necessary.

This is limit of my own knowledge. AK is struggling to find  time to even answer forum posts, let alone support multiple Ubuntu versions. Sorry, but you will be on your own with 16.04.
