Thumbs Up FWIW, if you can, might as well try this experiment: compare audio quality of NTFS vs XFS.

Am interested to know whether you prefer one to another.
It won't matter in my setup as I'm using a fibre optic isolated streamer between the server running Snakeoil and my DAC. So any changes in the noise signature from the server doesn't make it to my DAC.

In order for me to hear a difference your Snakeoil tweaks make I will need an EFI bootable image. As the Superstream streamer is EFI boot only. Right now I'm running the Hqplayer NAA 355-x64 turnkey image, which is about as stripped down as an OS as it can get.

The 64 bit version of Snakeoil is EFI ready. I have tested this in my systems and it works. Having said that, others have reported this setup do not work for them.

Honestly I have no idea why or what differences different EFI sytems have.

Are you able to boot the 64 bit ISO in your Superstream streamer?

No it won't work in the Superstream. Would be nice if it did. I would tell all of my clients to use it.

Think I'd give this EFI thing another go once Blind Testing U1 is complete.

In the BIOS of your Superstream, is there a legacy mode ? If yes, turning that option on will fix it. Alternatively, your EFI needs to be able to boot the USB as a CD-ROM media. Once that setting is set it'd work.

Start another thread on this, PM me the details of your Superstream hardware, and I'd try and find any information I can to get it to work.

The BIOS is EFI only. It's the same as the Minnowboard BIOS, which is why I was trying to get the Minnowboard working with you earlier. If it will work on the Minnowboard, it will work on the Superstream. My Superstream boards are from the same OEM manufacturer.

UEFI firmware is here:
