Introduction
It's here - Snakeoil OS 1.0.0 Golden Ears. This is how Snakeoil OS should be, and now it finally is. The Golden Ears development took approximately 5 months (including 2 months of testing) and is a complete re-write from the ground up. This is a big change:
  • 36 new features since Snakeoil OS 0.1.5d. Brand new asynchronous WebApp (Like how USB 2.0 DAC communicates with the computer)
  • Fixed 23 bugs discovered in alpha testing and 12 bugs in beta testing
  • Updated documentation
Long story short, it's a lot of work. Snakeoil OS is better now, and I reckon it sounds even better than before (This was the big worry before Whew).

What To Do
This is where it gets a bit complicated:
  1. New users: Go to the 1.0.0 ISO thread
  2. 0.1.x users: Go to the 1.0.0 ISO thread
  3. 0.8.x users: Download and apply this firmware
  4. 0.9.x users: Download and apply this firmware

Hi Luca, the kernel will work across all versions of Snakeoil.. Only the Snakeoil OS Webapp is incompatible across 0.1.x (legacy) and the current (1.x).

Legacy is full PHP based (sync) while modern 1.x is frontend+REST backend (async).
Hi Traver02,
What do you mean by legacy kernel? Kernel in the archives? Sorry, my mind was thinking of another thing at the time. Kernels in the archive are not compatible (you shouldn't be able to upload it via the WebApp). You can always use the M2Tech kernel here.

I am currently using the M2tech kernel

i have just 2 voices in the "boot kernel" but if a scroll, everytime i reboot or shut down/restart i always get the m2tech loaded

I wonder. When you change the kernel in the snakeoil menu, did you press the 'SAVE' button at the bottom of the page? I have tested changing kernel and it works fo rme.

If you still have problems, I have written out some quick instructions on how to manuallly change the kernel here.
